Performance limitations for moving images
Do you see this message in the oneclick™ menu?
"For smooth streaming, you or your administrator should check whether the domain datacenter-name.oneclick.services is allowed through the firewall for port 443 TCP & UDP."
Is your application working as usual?
You can forward the message to your administrator – immediate action is not necessarily required.
You can change the Streaming optimization setting yourself using the controls on app tiles. However, as long as this message is displayed, the "Smooth videos" option has no effect. The setting works as usual only after your administrator has configured the firewall rule.
Are you experiencing performance issues?
Forward the message together with the link to this article to your administrator.
Information for administrators: Configure the firewall rule
Check whether your users' firewalls allow incoming and outgoing UDP traffic for the domain displayed in the message.
Procedure:
- Check whether "UDP Higher Ports" are allowed through the firewall.
- Add the displayed DNS name to your firewall allowlist and allow ports 443 TCP and UDP. This ensures that the WebRTC streaming protocol works.
- Then use the Webcasts page to check whether WebRTC works correctly.
DNS entries by data center:
| Datacenter | DNS entries |
|---|---|
| Germany – Central | hetzner-fra-turn.oneclick.services |
| Germany – Magdeburg | otc-eu-de-turn.oneclick.services |
| Switzerland – Zurich | ch-turn.oneclick.services |
| US East Coast - Ashburn | hetzner-useast-turn.oneclick.services |
Users can find the datacenter in the system data under "Datacenter". As an administrator, you can find this information under Division > Datacenters > Delivery cluster.
Can you only use IP addresses?
Find the relevant IP address under Allowlisting oneclick™ IP addresses.
What is WebRTC?
WebRTC is a protocol for the smooth transmission of moving images, even with low bandwidth. The "Streaming optimization" setting determines how quickly the connection switches to WebRTC:
- Low latency (slider on the far left): WebRTC is not active.
- Smooth videos (slider moved to the right): WebRTC is used preferentially.
If your users frequently work with moving images or video content, select a setting closer to "Smooth videos".
