Create app configuration

In the process of setting up oneclick™ you are here:

Make sure that you have already activated an app license.

To make your cloud resources or connections to existing on-premises, cloud or web resources available to users, you need to create app configurations. These app configurations are then used to create apps that appear as tiles on the user’s workspace.

  1. Click on the Apps tab in the menu.
  2. Click on to create a new app.
    • If you have already created app configurations, they will appear in this list.
    • If you have purchased software via “Marketplace” in oneclick™, the corresponding app configuration will appear here automatically and you can assign the app immediately.
  3. Since you have not yet created an app configuration which defines which resource is to be delivered and how, click New Config.
  4. First, select the app license that is to be deposited for this configuration. Here, you can set limits to the number of apps that can be created with this configuration. This can be useful if other admin users also have access to the administration and you want to ensure that only a certain number of apps of this type can be assigned. Finish this step by clicking Next.
  5. At the next step, you can choose between three different configuration types:
    • Connections
This is where you can create configurations for own resources, which you have created in the menu item “Resources”, under “Connections”.
    • Cloud resources
This is where you can create configurations for cloud resources that have already been created in the menu item “Resources”, under “Cloud Resources”.
    • Websites
This is where you can either deliver an “Internal website” from one of your created “Connections” or make a “Public website” available in oneclick™.

App configuration for connections or cloud resources

  1. Select what should be displayed to the end user. You can choose between:
    • Entire desktop
The entire desktop of the connection destination is delivered.
    • Terminal
The terminal server environment will be started.
    • Single Program
There will be delivered a concrete program of the server. It is possible by using the program type “RemoteApp” or “Remote start of an unlisted program”.
  2. Select all destinations of a connection or all virtual machines that should be linked in this configuration and click Next.
  3. In the next step, enter a name for your configuration that you can associate your resource with.
  4. Select the appropriate protocol for your resource and fill out the fields accordingly.
  5. For desktops or programs, you can define in the access settings how the image of your resource is streamed and whether the user can change these settings independently. We recommend using the default settings.
  6. Choose Policies if you want additional protection for accessing apps with this app configuration.
  7. You can customise the color of the tile on the oneclick™ Workspace, change the caption, or customise the icon. It is possible to choose whether or not you want your users to see the “controls on tile“. Click Save. The configuration will now be created.
Notice: If you do not want to display any control elements, make sure that you define an event profile for starting and stopping virtual machines. If you do not want to allow the user to “edit app settings”, also make sure to forbid “change password” within the connection destination.
  8. Now create an app by assigning the app configuration to your users.

App configuration for Websites

  1. Select what should be displayed to the end user. You can choose between:
    • Internal website
An internal website or web application is delivered in an isolated environment via Website Access Protection.
    • Public website
A public web page or web application is linked and can optionally be secured via Website Access Protection.

Internal website

  1. Please select the connection destination where you hosted the website and click Next.
  2. In the next step, enter a name for your configuration.
  3. Choose between HTTP or HTTPS and enter the path of the internal website. Your website or web application is opened in an isolated container on a host server and is therefore not vulnerable to external threats (Website Access Protection).
  4. To secure access to this app, select the appropriate policy.
  5. You can customise the color of the tile on the oneclick™ Workspace, change the caption, or customise the icon. It is possible to choose whether or not you want your users to see the “controls on tile”. Click Save. The configuration will now be created.
  6. Now create an app by assigning the app configuration to your users.

Public website

  1. Enter a name for your configuration in the next step.
  2. Enter the URL of the public website.
  3. You can choose whether you want to deliver your website or web application via “Website Access Protection”. Your website will be opened in an isolated container on a host server and is therefore protected from external threats. If you deactivate the security option “Website Access Protection”, the URL is linked like a bookmark.
However, the advantage of automatic login remains the same. Please note that some pages do not allow to be displayed in an iframe. In this case, you have to activate the security option “Website Access Protection”.
