What does licensing cost for a multi-user environment?

If you want to implement a multi-user environment based on Microsoft Windows RDS, Microsoft and we recommend “per user” licensing for the Microsoft RDS. A valid Microsoft access license (CAL or SAL) is also required per accessing user. Either Microsoft RDS CALs with active “Software Assurance” contracts have already been purchased for the accessing users or the accessing users can be licensed on a monthly basis using Microsoft RDS SALs. RDS-SAL licenses cost EUR 6.00 per user and month plus VAT and can be purchased together with our oneclick™ app licenses – in this case the licensing for accessing users is automatically compliant with the Microsoft license terms and conditions and the purchase of RDS-CAL incl. active “Software Assurance” contract can be skipped.

What are concurrent licenses (usage-based billing)?

You can also request oneclick™ user and app licenses in the concurrent model with usage-based billing. With usage-based billing, all users of the monthly “peak” are charged. The “Peak” is the highest number of concurrent accesses per month. A usage-based billing is worthwhile if not more than half of your created users will work in oneclick™ at the same time and if you want to create many apps per user, but probably not all of them are used at the same time.

With the oneclick™ user Professional concurrent license you pay a low fixed price per user for the infrastructure provided for the hybrid drive. In addition, a surcharge is charged for all users of the monthly “peak”. With a oneclick™ user Basic concurrent license, without the hybrid drive, you pay just for all users of the monthly “peak” – without a fixed price.

In the concurrent model for the oneclick™ app licenses, you pay just for all apps that were opened in the monthly “Peak” – without a fixed price. To control costs, you can set limits (which prevent that more than X apps can be opened at the same time) for each of your users or for all users.

Are Microsoft operating system licenses included in oneclick™?

Microsoft licenses are not included in the oneclick™ fees. However, if you need it, you can purchase it from us.

If you provide resources through the Cloud Resource Manager, operating system licenses are included in the cloud provider’s costs.

What does the delivery of a software in oneclick™ cost?

For the delivery of a software you need the following components:

  1. You need an infrastructure on which your software runs and that is suitable for your expected number of users. This can be your own server or a cloud server that you get from a provider such as Azure, AWS etc.
    Depending on the requirements of the software and the selected provider, the prices vary greatly. We will be happy to advise you on this. Please do not hesitate to contact us.
  2. If your infrastructure requires a Windows operating system, additional Microsoft Windows licenses have to be purchased separately.
  3. For management and delivery to the web browser, you will need a oneclick™ User Basic License and an App License to deploy one application or desktop per user. If your software does not have its own file storage system, you can choose the oneclick™ User Professional License, which includes the Hybrid Drive App. Prices can be found on our website.

Is there a minimum purchase of licenses?

No, oneclick™ can already be ordered starting from one license.

What are the cancellation periods for oneclick™ licenses?

The annual subscription can be terminated after a period of notice of three months before the end of the contract. In case the annual subscription is not terminated in time, it will automatically be extended for another year. The monthly subscription can be terminated after a period of notice of three days prior to the end of the contract. In case the monthly subscription is not terminated in time, it will automatically be extended for another month.

How does software licensing work?

Just like in other environments, you need licenses for the software you want to deploy with oneclick™. Microsoft products can be purchased directly from oneclick™. Other software licenses, which are not automatically integrated in oneclick™, must be purchased directly from the vendor.
