Why do I need to set a password?

You are currently asked to set a password and are wondering why this is necessary?

In brief
  • The password you set here is your oneclick™ password. It belongs to your oneclick™ account.
  • It is not the password for your Microsoft, Google, or company account – and does not change it.
  • How you log in to oneclick™ does not change.

A separate password for your oneclick™ account

There are different ways to log in to oneclick™ – for example by signing in with your Microsoft (Entra ID) or Google account, with your company credentials, or directly with a oneclick™ password.

Regardless of the login method, your oneclick™ account has its own password. This is the password you set here.

Your oneclick™ password is separate from the passwords you use to sign in with Microsoft, Google, or your company. When you set it, these passwords do not change.

Do I need the oneclick™ password to log in?

If you log in to oneclick™ by signing in with Microsoft, Google, or your company account, this login method remains unchanged. Then you do not need the oneclick™ password in everyday use – it is a fallback and additionally secures your account.

You need it, for example, if:

  • your administrator allows login with the oneclick™ password
  • login via your usual login method is not possible.

When do I see this page?

You can get here in several ways. In all cases, you set a oneclick™ password that only you know.

You set up your account for the first time:

  • You follow an invitation or registration link from an email.
  • You log in to oneclick™ for the first time – for example by signing in with your Microsoft or Google account, with your company credentials, or with a start or default password from your administrator – and then set your own oneclick™ password.

You set your oneclick™ password again:

  • You used "Reset password" to set a new password using the link in the email.
  • Your administrator reset your password or gave you a new one.

In all cases, your Microsoft, Google, or company password remains unchanged, and your usual login does not change. You continue to log in to oneclick™ as usual.

Unable to log in with your oneclick™ password?

This is normal as long as this login method has not been enabled. Continue to log in to oneclick™ as usual – for example by signing in with your Microsoft or Google account. If you want to log in with your oneclick™ password, contact your administrator. They can check whether this login method may be enabled for you and activate it if required.
